The Infrastructure Resilience Thrust is truly multidisciplinary and seeks to advance the meaning of infrastructure resilience by understanding how it influences the operating environment and is influenced by the community in which it exists. This Thrust is advancing the understanding of what it means for infrastructure to be resilient. Projects in this discipline focus on infrastructure networks and the management of complex data with the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Building Information Modeling (BIM). To date, the Infrastructure Resilience Thrust research has required specializations in industrial management, crisis decision making, sustainable construction, demand and dependency management, urban planning and human factors.
