The 2015 test series was conducted with the support of the Explora Foundation at the Royal Air Force base Spadeadam in Cumbria, England. This test series continued the research into the performance of structural and architectural systems under blast loading conditions.
A total of two explosive charges were laid. For each explosive tests multiple targets were set up. The first target comprised of research into blast loading on square hollow structural sections (SHS). Hollow, concrete-filled and concrete-filled double skin elements were tested. The second target investigated high-performance glass panes under blast loading. These tests expanded the research into the applicability of the Glass Failure Prediction Model (GFPM) to blast loading. All targets were fully instrumented, including the use of high speed video cameras.
