Sustainable Energy through Climate Change – Truth or Myth?
This meeting featured three outstanding speakers talking about Sustainability of Energy to Climate Change as well as Low Carbon, Climate Resilient Infrastructure.

Speakers:
- Christopher Kennedy, Civil Engineering Professor at the University of Toronto, where he teaches Engineering Economics and Design of Infrastructure for Sustainable Cities. Holding qualifications in Civil Engineering, Economics and Business, Chris has conducted professional work for several organizations including the Ontario Ministry of Finance, Infrastructure Canada and the World Bank. In 2011/12, he was seconded to the OECD in Paris. He is the current President of the International Society for Industrial Ecology, and author of The Evolution of Great World Cities: Urban Wealth and Economic Growth. - Gord Miller, Environmental Commissioner of Ontario. He acts as the province’s independent environmental watchdog. Before his appointment, Mr. Miller worked for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment for 14 years as a scientist, manager of training and development, and as a district manager. He has direct experience with numerous environmental issues, including approval and inspection activities, sewage, drinking water, solid waste management, hazardous waste, noise, air pollution and land use planning.
- Paul Evans, Deputy Minister at Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change. Previously, Paul was the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Integrated Environmental Policy Division. Paul has held numerous positions within the Ontario Public Service including: Assistant Deputy Minister of Strategic Investment Relations in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Assistant Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Policy and Planning in the Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal, and has also worked in the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Cabinet Office, the Ontario Ministry of Finance, Management Board Secretariat and the former Ministry of Skills Development.
