Prof. Seica received his Ph.D. degree in structural engineering from the University of Toronto, after developing a multi-disciplinary research programme on the condition assessment of infrastructure systems. Prof. Seica has been teaching engineering courses in the Department of Civil Engineering since 2000. Since his appointment as Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto in 2008, he has specialised and undertaken research in the area of Protective Design. He has published the outcome of his work in major, peer-reviewed engineering journals.
Prof. Seica is also a practicing senior structural engineer undertaking design, research and development, and consulting work in structural engineering and Protective Design. His experience relates to projects in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, Bermuda and Romania.
Prof. Seica serves as a Sub-Committee Chair on the Technical Committee for the Canadian Standards Association S850-12 “Design and Assessment of Buildings Subjected to Blast Loads” standard. Prof. Seica is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Provinces of Ontario and Alberta, Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Member of the International Association of Protective Structures (IAPS).
